About Lanea

Aloha, I am Lanea, a 16 year old professional competitive surfer from Atlantic Beach Florida who enjoys being active in the elements of nature in all aspects of my life. I am working strategically to achieve my short term and long-term professional goals. To accomplish this I am focusing on strengthening my body and mind and skills, through a multi-dimensional approach of physical training, nutrition, mind set strengthening, and skill improvement in all types of waves globally and the highest level of competition available to me.

Being active is one of my primary values. Apart from surfing, different sports I enjoy in my free time include yoga, running, tennis, softball, swimming, sailing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, equestrian, strength training, and mountain biking. Travel and learning about other cultures is very important to me. Creativity is another aspect in my life that I value and appreciate. I love using all forms of art such as watercolor, acrylic painting, and paint pens to capture what I see in the world. I also have found interest in playing many different instruments through my love of music. Guitar is my favorite way to be innovative with sound. In addition, I love being creative in the kitchen through my love for culinary arts. I value academics and getting a good education. I am an Honors Straight A student through FLVS.I strive to do my best in all aspects of my life, including school and I enjoy the learning process.

I love all things classic, like 80s rock, old records, and timeless cars. With that, I also have a passion for all things related to cars. Health and wellbeing have always been a huge part of my life. Eating wholesome foods, journaling, visualizing, and doing restorative practices are a few ways I like to improve myself. Lastly, I have a great love for anything outdoors and seek adventure.

The year I started surfing at age 10, I ran my own surf contest with 30+ competitors and have done so every year since then. It’s my way of giving back to my community who supports me. My highest achievement in ammeter surfing is the Girls U16 Silver Medal in the ISA Junior World Surfing in Brazil.  My highest Professional results in the World Surf League include a win in Outbanks at age 15 and several finals day results at other contests.
